Raj is not happy with his builder. Having been offered possession of his flat recently he feels that his home lacks his personal touch. His talk with the real estate company has yielded no result. In a way, they are also not wrong.
“How can we ensure individuality to each and every apartment?” They countered him with their own set of posers.
“The colour combination has been decided in accordance with the procedure followed by the company.” They further added. “And each and every flat has been rendered likewise. You please tell us what would you have done if you were in our shoes? We can’t help it, Sir.”
Their final salvo left Raj speechless. He understood that if he wanted to have his way he would have to find his own way out. And with this firm resolve in mind Raj disconnected the phone.
Being a Smart man Raj starts his research online. After going through certain blogs on sites such as helpguru.com that the Google search led him to he understood some of the basic parameters that one should keep in mind while getting your house painted—things like size of the rooms, the orientation of the sun, availability of daylight, personal and preferences of the family members.
As he went along with his research gradually his wife and he firmed up on certain things such as choice of colours, the type of paints they would need, textures they would like to have on their walls etc. Armed with this knowledge he got in touch with painters both online as well as offline, after discussing his requirements with them negotiated a deal with the one whom he considered understood his needs best and finally went on to turn his house into a home everyone said, “Wow that looks wonderful.”
The best part is that you too could be like Raj. A little research, a wee bit of an effort and the result will be something that will apart from bringing joy to your life it will also make your chest swell with pride.
